FCP X Get an Update and Free Trial
We are very happy to see Apple came out this morning with the first major update to Final Cut Pro X! Two of the biggest highlights of the update are XML and SAN support. SAN support is necessary for multi-seat environments like Creative Liquid. XML support will bring back much of the functionality that exists within Final Cut 7; this includes sharing projects among different applications. XML will also open the door for potentially bringing Final Cut Pro 7 projects into FCP X.
For editors still on the fence, Apple is now offering a 30-day free trial of FCP X. I should point out while Creative Liquid edits on Final Cut Pro 7 software, we are not hired or paid for our reviews by Apple. We are offering our assessment as a video production company that uses NLE software on a daily basis.
We look forward to more improvements with FCP X. While we are beginning to offer FCP X support for clients, we continue to complete the majority of our editing with Final Cut Pro 7. All of our edit suites also support Adobe Premier CS 5.5.
Creative Liquid founder Ryan Pratzel will join Matt Nagy, Richard Harrington and Tanya Spann Roche to discuss tapeless workflow, including workflow in FCP X, at TIVA's meeting Wednesday September 21 at RHED Pixel in Falls Church, VA. For more information visit: TIVA.
