Vimeo Pro, Now Playing!

What is the best solution for hosting videos on the web?  Clients ask this question quite frequently.  Many often turn to YouTube.  Others pay a video hosting company, but this can get quite expensive.  YouTube offers great high definition streaming, but companies are also stuck competing with millions of videos that virtually anyone with a smart phone can upload.

Now there is a new option, an option that we as a media company really like.  Vimeo announced today their Vimeo Pro service.  Vimeo Pro is designed for businesses that were previously not allowed to use the Vimeo service.  Vimeo is a high quality video streaming service designed from the ground up for creative professionals.  Until now, businesses were not allowed to use Vimeo to stream their marketing videos.  For a $199 annual fee, businesses can now create a Vimeo Pro account and have access to many of Vimeo’s awesome tools.  The Pro account gives users 50GB of storage.  According to Vimeo, there are no bandwidth or time limits on videos.  As with Vimeo’s other account options, Vimeo Pro will support video up to 1080p.

Vimeo videos can be embedded directly into your organization’s website.  You have far more control than you do with YouTube.  The videos can also be viewed on popular mobile devices including the iPhone and iPad.  Vimeo also provides advanced analytics.  This gives you the ability to see who is watching your videos.
